The Northern Ohio Outlaws is a growing group of cowboys and cowgirls who participate in the fastest growing equine sport in the country, known as Cowboy Mounted Shooting.  Participants run the timed event on horseback; through a course containing ten balloons, shooting single action 45 caliber long-colt pistols.  The ammunition used are blanks, but the guns and the excitement are very real.

The sport appeals to all ages and disciplines of equestrians as there are classes of competition for everyone - male and female.  There is a division for Limited Wranglers (children under age 10), Open Wranglers (age 10-11), Adult (12 and over), and Seniors (age 50 and over). Each division has six levels of competition, so there is literally a class for everyone!

Ohio shooters compete not only locally, but in State, Regional, National and World Championship events.  At each match, special recognition is given to the high point and reserve overall shooters in both men's and ladies divisions, class winners, as well as special awards for our young competitors (Wranglers).

In 2013 the Northern Ohio Outlaws were the single largest CMSA chapter in the world.
